          Bernie Leadon

Bernie Leadon has been said to have country music closer to his  heart than rock,
a statement that sounds accurate when listening to his work.

His journey in life has brought him through many states in the US, and his musical  one
is no different. From "Scottsville Squirrel Barkers" in California via "Hearts and Flowers",
"Of Horses Kids and Forgotten Women" and "Dillard &Clark in Florida, and never to forget
"The Continentals" featuring Don Felder he went back to California where he played with
the "Flying Burrito Brothers" for five years until he finally ended up backing Linda Ronstadt
in company with Randy Meisner and songwriters Henley and Frey, a constellation that
soon thereafter in 1972 became "The Eagles".

During his four years with Eagles he wrote a number of deep unforgettable songs,
majestically composed and sensitively delivered, like "My Man", "Bitter Creek" and
"Journey of The Sorcerer". "Witchy Woman" became one of the bands most well known
tunes from the first albums.

After leaving the Eagles he moved on and 1977 formed the "Bernie Leadon Michael
Georgiades Band" and released the album "Natural Progressions".

During the 90-ies he backed Chris Hillman, on a couple of releases and formed a group
called "Ever Call Ready". "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band" needed a replacement for John McEuen
in -87 and in the spring of the 90-ies he was in "Run C&W".

1998 he was back with his former Eagles' bandmates at the induction to the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame. At this event all the seven members played together.

2003 after 27 years he finally released a solo CD, "Mirror", a simply wonderful CD with a profound musical depth and very thoughtful lyrics. A reflection of his life maybe?
Or maybe life in general?
A video has been made for one of the songs from Mirror, "What Do I Own" and is now
available for viewing at video-effect.com.

Bernie too has been a guest player on other artist's records. Emmylou Harris, Stevie Nicks
and David Crosby are among those who have enjoyed his masterful guitar contributions.

One of his interests is rail speeders, little railborn carriages.
Let's all hope he jumps on one and rolls into the studio.

Because we are ready for a "Mirror 2".
